Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
I am patient. I am kind. I am love. And I’m very content to play the long game. You don’t see how all the pieces fit together because you can’t see all the pieces. You only see the things that are in your hand right now – and even then you get distracted by what you don’t have and what you can’t do. That’s not an accurate way to see the fullest, most beautiful picture in all its technicolour glory!
Instead of focussing on what you don’t have, let me show you the real value of what you’re holding right now because when you see from my perspective, it will change everything for you. You’re not as limited in your options as you think you are. You have so much more freedom than you realise.
What will you do with your freedom? Because you’re free to live in relationship with me and to embrace everything that that means. Nothing is restricted or off limits. The real issue is your heart and what you allow to have your focus. Focus is important because those things that you think of as your calling, uniquely yours and a gift from me, can become a snare if you allow them priority over everything and everyone in your life.
Not at any cost, remember? Love me and love people. Fix your eyes on Jesus when you’re not sure what that looks like – and remember that you’re “people” too. It’s okay to be kind to you and allow yourself the same space and boundaries and time alone with me that Jesus had. He really is your greatest example. And you are as loved by me as Jesus is. Yes, I know that is another thought that makes your mind boggle. Sit with it for a moment: You are as loved as Jesus!
