Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
You don’t need to be everywhere. What if, instead, you focussed on being simply where I invite you to be? This comes back to comparison again. You are you and that is all I need or want or invite you to be. How someone else does life, even how someone else does life with me, is not your portion.
Yes, learn from other people, glean wisdom from those who have gone ahead of you, but not at any cost and not at the expense of us doing life together. Stop being afraid of what you might miss out on! When you flow with me, allow me to whisper invitations and nudges, you will never miss my best.
And yes, it is easy to hear what I’m inviting you into. You put so much pressure on yourself to get “it” right, you sometimes feel like you can’t hear me but you were created to do life with me, created to hear me. That is my heart’s desire so why would I make it difficult for you?
What if you learned to rest in our relationship? And what if you asked me what that looks like for you? Because you resting in our relationship is not going to look the same as someone else. See? Comparison again. Why do you get so caught up in wanting to understand how everyone else is doing life with me?
You be you. Our story, our adventure together, that’s what I’m aching to share and explore with you. I’m not going to waste our precious time telling you someone else’s story with me. Yes, you hear those stories from time to time as people share them, celebrations of my goodness, but you won’t hear them directly from me.
Be you. Be you, with me. Moment by moment and day by day. That’s where you need to be – today and every day.
