Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
You try to complicate things, to over-think and plan, but what if life is actually incredibly simple? What if life is less about what you’re doing each day and so much more about who you are becoming?
You’re itching to make a difference yes, because I created you with that desire, but not at any cost. Ultimately you’re here to be you, to embrace all the aspects of how I created you, how you’re wired, and to give the gift that is you back to me, moment by moment, day by day.
There are pieces you’re fighting against that don’t need to be a battle! What if you instead embraced all of you, even the pieces you think of as problematic, and asked me to show you how I see you? How I see those challenging pieces?
Challenges are opportunities to grow and yes, sometimes you feel like that must mean I created you with lot of space to grow! And I did – but not in the way you think. This isn’t about growing into someone who doesn’t have those pieces you call challenges. This is about growing in me, growing in how we do life together, growing in relationship. The challenging pieces are simply one mechanism for that growth.
I saw you and knew you as I laid the foundations of the world. You are not faulty or in need of fixing. You are carefully and lovingly made – and I don’t make junk! Are there physical aspects of you that sometimes don’t function in my absolute best because of the age you currently live in? Yes – but I can redeem all things, even the pain.
Hear my heart … I don’t will the pain, that’s messed up theology and I am so much more loving and creative than that! But yes, I allow the pain and yes, I know you don’t understand why. One day you will see, know and understand fully – and what a day that will be! Until then, you know already what I’m going to ask of you. Yes, trust.
