Today’s Holy Spirit Love Note:
Let me help you love people where they’re at, taking them at their word and recognising that not everyone or everything is always as it appears to be. There so much more going on than you can see and this is never truer than when it comes to other people.
You don’t need to second guess everyone or try and figure out who they are or what’s really going on with them. If you do that you’ll get frustrated and exhausted! I want you to thrive and that means living from a place of love. Calling people higher, seeing the gold, and loving them exactly where they are – even when it’s not the place you’d like them to be.
When you finding it difficult to understand the person in front of you, ask me to show you my heart for them. Let me show you what I love about them right now. I don’t love you or anyone for your potential or who you might one day become. I love you because I love you because I love you. Let me help you offer that same grace to the people you do life with.
Take people at their word and love them. Period. No exceptions or add-ons needed. Yes, sometimes they’ll prove themselves contrary to their word and we can deal with that if and when it happens but don’t start from a place of doubt or cynicism.
Start with love, appropriate love, you can still have boundaries. You don’t love everyone in exactly the same way and you’re not meant to. Look to Jesus as your example, always. He loved the crowds and he loved his disciples. The expression, the outpouring of that love looked different depending on the context and that’s true for you too. Let me help you love and you won’t go wrong.
